We Need Lots of Dua

An aunt of mine (Along Yana's mom) is in the hospital since Friday. She is not doing well, but InshaAllah, we are all praying she will get better soon. My aunt is an extraordinary woman, strong, compassionate, patient… If you know her, you know that both Along Yana and her sister Kak Pidah inherit her many wonderful qualities. Both of them are reflections of my aunt.

I feel that I am not doing enough for them; there are always gaps to fill. For now, all I can offer are unconditional love for my cousins who are as good as my sisters, lots of dua and as much support as I can muster.

Please include my aunt, and her daughters in your dua, duakan Allah keep them in His loving arms always. After all, Allah knows best.

Happy Birthday Lady Sakana!

Lady Sakana has been a friend for over 10 years. She was one of my A-Level classmates. We didn't go the same university, but she is my first friend who traveled all the way from London to meet me at Newcastle. I still can recall meeting her at the Gallowgate Coach Station. She spent 7 hours on the bus from Victoria Coach Station to visit me and I still remember the feeling of meeting her for the first time in UK.

We continued to keep in touch even after we came home to Malaysia. Back then, we didn't have handphones, so we called each other at our parents houses. As fate had it, both of us got the offers to work in the same area, although different companies. The years that came after that saw us together now and then. Lady Sakana met the love of her life during this period of time. I attended both her engagement and wedding ceromanies.

Today, she lives close-by, still working close-by. We don't talk or see each other as much, but we are still close. Lady Sakana is a mother of 3 sons. 3 wonderful, adorable boys. When I saw them together last Iftar session in Ramadhan, it felt so good to know that my friend is happy and content.

Her birthday was on the 31st of October 2007. I always do remember it, but sometimes didn't make enough effort to call her. But then, I have been quite lazy when it comes to birthday wishes in recent years...

So dereast Lady Sakana. Happy (Belated) Birthday! I must confess that sometimes I feel that we are no longer in the same league, you are there - a wife, a devoted mother and much more matured than I think I am... But then, when we do get together, I am reminded that we are still the same girls who used to spend so much time together, who went through many phases of life together. Please accept from heartfelt gratitute for being a friend. I love you with all of my heart, and wish you the very wonderful things in life. May Allah continue to shower you with love, joy and happiness.
